like, manualiseing the auto

so your 123d are actual gears and you have to use the tbar to change gears,

Data_mine is building such a set up for a BA GT; I guess if he is successful (and he may already be - haven't seen the thread for a while), then all you'd need is Muzza's "BA for AU" electronics, an E series valve/solenoid in the box to hold 1st and the Data_mine paddles and it would work in an AU too.

I think he finished that a while back and it came up good. I remember seeing something about it but not having an auto I wasnt highly interested in reading it all

That would be perfect then - get the SSS controls on the wheel, and no unsightly BA shifter! Still, it would be around $1k all up, so hardly worth it. I just go up and down the gears manually; never had an auto break on me yet (except the EL, but it was stuffed anyway!).

The T-Series ESS set-up is the best auto changer EVER! It is the nearest to full manual control that you can achieve without actually having a full manual valve body like on the old FMXs and C6s etc. I wish someone would do something like that for the BW auto.

I used to have the details required for fitting the sequential shift from the B-series into an E-series, using the E-series gearbox... was advised to use a custom shift kit to stiffen up the shifts for the AU box... will look for the email if requested...

A good tuner and a flash box can stiffen up the shift in an AU box. Chris from bluepower has tuned my TE and the full race tune the box shifts at max revs if left in auto mode and for want of a better word slams thru the gears so sharp that when you first experience it you would think the box is coming thru the floor I do not use that tune for street work the middle tune 220rwkw the shifts are crisp and not as harsh on the box and it changes before redline in auto mode.

I too was looking at this mod, but am thinking of going full manual valve body, and strengthened internals. I think it will be very difficult to get my hands on a ESS from a T series.

No point going to a B series box - it's the same as the AU, but with cheaper (chinese?) internals and is weaker than the AU box. A box from an EF or EL would be a good one to use for this mod, as it already has the correct valvebody required to hold first gear (the AU box doesn't; the BA box does, but is weaker).

The BA SSS function is all electronics, with the only addition being the BA shifter which is made to move sideways. Get all the gearbox electrics from a BA, and the shifter and cable, and a weekend, and you'd have SSS in an AU (just don't expect it to hold in 1).

I'd contact FTG - they're always good for doing weird/odd/great stuff.
