I I tried like mad to talk her out of it.
I so wanted the manual but in the end its not my car.
I bought it purely for her and she had free rein on what she wanted.
I think she's spewin in hindsight!!!!
Especially how crap the auto drives.

Just a thought....

Are you sure the squeak is in the rear seat? We thought we had a rather maddening one there too...until we removed the rear cargo cover/parcel shelf. Then it was all quiet.

Hi Guys,

HAve been quoted Fiesta Zetec 5dr Auto in Silver. Got it for 23,700 with headlight and bonnet protectors, mats and ipod cable through some corporate fordpartner thing we have at work. Is this a good price? Ive signed the contract now, but the other half is giving me grief that I didnt shop around enough and that I could have gotten cheaper.. What do you think guys, good deal? I think its about on the money. I cant wait now to get it.

Cheers

I have to agree, if you can drive a manual go for it over the auto. As for your price, that's great. I paid $22,800 for a White Zetec 3-Door manual. Looking on Carpoint and the likes, that's a great price. Just do a read up on the auto. Most seem happy with it, but it's not as good as the great rorty 1.6L and slick-ish manual.

After some advice please.

I've been offered a Vision 5 door manual Zetec for $22,600 drive away. Available 1-2 weeks. Given that it's almost Christmas, I was thinking I might just hold off til the New Year and wait for a 2010 plate car? The price will be the same, apparently.

I've just read through a dozen pages of horror stories in this thread abotu protracted delays for cars and now I'm thinking maybe I should just take the 09 model if it turns up???

What would you guys/gals suggest? I've got an old car that runs out of rego mid-Deember, but I can just pay the rego for 6 more months and keep running it til the new car arrives, say Feb?

Delays are almost a thing of the past now. We have plentiful stock should you want one now, and I can't imagine too much of a delay in 2010.

RapidTyphoon - do you work at a Ford Dealer? I go up to T-bar for family visits pretty regularly, in fact I was at Southern Cross Ford on Sunday to see what colour fiestas they had. (Just one grey one hidden out the back unfortunately)

Being november you might as well wait till 10 to get a 10 plated car... Just be wary of the wait time... Ask them for your SSID as soon as possible so you can keep track of where the car is at.

otherwise, if you need a new car now, better off get the 09 plate. I got mine two days after I bought it.

No but I live in Toowoomba. All I'm going to say about Souther Cross Ford is *&^%$#*7^%$#! They screwed me over twice. If your on the coast Pacific Ford gets my vote. But there is a dealer in Brissie that's pretty good too :

Did you see the 3-Door Zetec in that weird blue colour? Quite nice!

ta mate. We bought our Focus from Denmac at Darra and will give them first chance to sell us the Fiesta.

yeah i thought that blue colour was alright. The wife wants Vision or red. The red is not a metallic so looks a bit dull compared to Vision.

is it possible to get the dash/interior in blue to match the Vision paintjob? I've seen the red dash on a few and it looks ok, but would prefer blue.

You get the Gray Dash with Vision. I have the Soho trim on my Frozen White Zetec, looks the tits IMO. I asked but they said it is for the base models only. Perhaps if your willing to through some extra money at it they could do a special order, but normally it would be the grey only.

Wow I didn't realize you could get Soho with the Vision. Had I have known that I may have went with the Vision/Soho combination. Still worth asking for though mate if it's something you really want, for a few extra quid you may be able to have the Blue optioned up?

Had my first test drive of a Fiesta Zetec this arvo. Very nice little car. It's noticeably smaller and lighter than my Focus Zetec, but still rides nicely and is big enough inside for me (6'2" 100kgs). It won't replace the Focus as the family car for trips, but for running around town it will be perfect. It seemed to have enough grunt even with the aircon cranking too.

I didnt order anything today, but had a quick look around the yard and a few of the CL models had the blue dash trim. So, obviously they do make a blue dash! I asked the sales guy if you could get a Vision Zetec with blue dash but he didn't know and he thought his catalog was out of date. Anyway, it's not a deal breaker, just a cool option.

Just put a hold on an 09 Vision Zetec 5door manual. The wife couldn't wait to Feb/March for a 2010 model. Should have it by the weekend hopefully.

Congrats on your purchase BrisVegas - it's good to hear that the waiting lists for the Vision Fiestas has decreased. I had to wait 10 weeks for delivery of my Vision Zetec, and they were the LONGEST weeks let me tell you lol

Yeah this car came into stock this week actually. The dealer knew I was after it and offered it to me first. He also said that I'd be waiting til at least March to get a 2010 plate Zetec.

I'm actually glad to take the 09 model, as I'm sick of driving the old clunker (95 Holden Nova) to the train each day. 3 more months driving that was gonna test the friendship. I get my Focus back now that the wife & kids are getting the Fiesta.

Hi Guys,

An update. Had the car a bit over a week now. Got my Zetec Auto from City Ford in Melbourne, a great price. Car had just arrived, Aug Build Oct Compliance, total waiting time about 5 days. Im having so much fun in this car, was worried about what some people were saying about the auto, ie not as powerful etc. Well I might have a special version, because mine seems to handle the freeways and the hills fine.

I did notice that the sticker for the servicing says "Your computer software has been updated to improve fuel economy and performance next to the 3000K service reminder"

Cant fault it, everyone whos seen it loves it. Ive already done 1000K's of combined freeway / city driving. Fuel economy at 7.7 l/100 (worked out manually rather than from the trip computer). Loving all the gadgets. Cruise works wonderfully as well.

The only things I want to do to it is get tinting, and maybe black euro plates.

Vision looks amazing. Had I have known I could get it with the Soho inside, that's what I'd be driving. Top car mate, enjoy

First highway run last night up to Toowoomba. Still happy with the Fez. I think I prefer the slightly heavier Focus for cruising, but the Fiesta handled the run admirably. Love the blue tooth phone integration. It's very clear. It's now on my "must-have" list for future cars. I'll post more pics once we get the Fez tinted and slimline plates installed.

Had the wreckers collect the old Holden Nova this morning, so now we're an all-Ford Zetec household.
