Default Fitting Fiesta Accessories

Ok so I'm finally going to fit my accessories, namely the illuminated gear lever and illuminated entry plates. Had half the day off, so I thought I'd get this down pat very easily. Nope. Has anyone else fitted either of these accessories, as I can't find the fuse pad to connect the wires to? I should have just got Ford to do it but I'm such a tight *** I thought I'd be able to do it.

a) I can't find the fuse box to fit these. I can see the box when I remove the glovebox, but not the secondary bit?
b) How on earth do I remove the existing silver scruff plates?

Hopefully someone has done this so I can get myself out of this pickle! Thanks in advance. See attached photo.

also dont stress if the gear knob light stays on for a while once you take your keys out... ours seems to stay on for a fair while after you leave the car

we made ours part of the deal.. ours was the first one the dealer had installed... apparently you have to take a fair bit of the interior out to fit it...

hopefully rapid will have a how to up when he's finished

Figured it out. The GEM (Global Electronic Module) is on the drivers side, not the passenger side as the diagram suggests. Go figure, as the diagram is LHD. Now to figure out where this GEM is without setting off the knee-airbag! The standard scruff plates just pull away, with a bit of a tug. They are just stuck on there?

I got my parts from European Parts. A pleasure to deal with, just took a few weeks to get here. Being the tight *** I am I didn't pay for express shipping!

Hehehe sometimes it pays to buy cheaper and do things yourself & other times it's such a hassle that you wish you'd just paid the extra to begin with. Here's hoping that it's the former for you Rapid ;)

I did originally buy the illuminated gear stick when I ordered the car but when the car arrived, I'd waited SO long for it that I decided that I just didn't want to wait to have the thing fitted lol I might still have it fitted one day when it's in for service but not quite sure yet.

I have seen some nice illuminated sticks on the 'net that I have contemplated purchasing BUT I don't think I'm that game to actually attempt installing it myself (typical female lol).

Advice: If you have to have the Illuminated Door sills or Gear Knob, just pay the significant extra amount of money and get Ford to fit them. Still no luck finding this stupid module. I swear all the Ford dealers in Australia employ people with a low IQ in their service and parts departments. They truly don't give two cents, and rude, and not very bright. 90% of these dealers said 'Not sure how to fix it, sorry.' When I asked if they would find out, well I might as well have been the worst person in the world! Will take it to Pacific Ford early next year when I get my air-con fixed. Meh. Lesson learnt. Just pay someone to do it and let them have all the hassles!

Rapid I have a friend that works for Ford, one day when he's fitted these to someones Fiesta I'll ask how you hook it up. Will probably be too late to help you out but you know just for future reference

I'm interested if the CL stereo can have the USB input added to it.

Check out the Ford Owners Club for the UK. They've been trying to do that for a while, think they can now. But very difficult and expensive.

Just for anyone who's wondering... I got the pedals today... Really easy to remove old ones and fit new ones... They wanted to charge me $40 to fit them. I read the instructions and had them fitted in under 5 minutes.

This is how hopeless the dealers are at knowing their product... I was told " you just need an allen key to fit these on and your done"

You dont need anything at all. They actually slip on over the pedal.. Honestly they are just hopeless.. If you dont know, say you dont know. Dont bulls%it it cos you end up looking like an idiot...

I'm going to take it to Pacific Ford in the New Year. They better not sting me for a massive install fee, as everything is already installed. Just need to know where the hell this stupid GEM is! HAHA.
