hey guys
i had a leaking master cylinder a while ago and me and a mater changed it for a new one .it stoped leaking for a while but now it's back even worse. so did i get a dodgy master cylinder or could it be the booster ??? it's leaking under where in goes into the booster at the bottom thanks jarrod

Did you clean the booster out, was the master brand new or rebuilt at least.

no i dont think we cleaned the booster out should have we ?,i asume its a brand new master cylinder, it's a pbr one

Well if it was leaking you may have had residual fluid still in the booster that is now coming back out (possible at least), I suggest unbolt the master clean pull it slightly forward, clean the area up, clean/soak up the inside of the booster and see how it goes.

Nope, dont undo the lines to the master, just the bolts to the booster, the brakes lines are fairly flexible if you are carefull, the booster is just to assist not hold fluid in.

are ok i get ya cool well i'll try that
and see how it goes do the booster ever leak ,i know it's a common problem for the m/c to leak ,but are the booster the same ? i never heard of it

Booster will fluid in it if the master is leaking out the back (normally where they leak) and that is what your peoblem may be only (I hope), boosters dont leak fluid unless like i just said, they will leak air i.e. vacuum though.

ok i just pulled it out and there was some rusty crap in there so i cleaned it out and put it back together ,i'll keep an eye on it when i drive it next

Try confirm the age/condition of the one you put in first, it was definately new and its still leaking, then I will have to do some serious thinking as to why, unless someone has already been there done that

it is a new unit
i cleaned it up inisde the booster like dellboy said and ive just taken it for a drive and it hasnt leaked ,so i may have fixed it ,i'll give it another look at in a few days when i got the car it wasnt leaking so im pretty sure it was the original one on it still i'll post back and let ya's know
