Question radio code locked 13

Just got a secondhand mondeo with the radio saying locked 13.
previous owner not helpful.Kids must have been playing because
code is in the book.How do I fix??? 3 ford dealers not helpful.Thanks

this may not be very helpful but according to this link that code means that all of the 6 attempts to unlock have been used and you are pretty much SOL.

Hope it is wrong. Surely Ford should be able to tell you? I know I had a similiar problem with a Holden Vectra once and it took the Holden dealer forever to get the code for me, but they did eventually do it.

I am guessing that its a MA-MB Mondego.

If its saying LOCK 13 or LOCKED 13 you need to get it unlock by a Ford dealer. Thats the info I have gotten for multiple google searches.

I remember this happening to a work Mondeo back in the 90s. One of our more gifted techs disconnected the car battery for some reason, then tried to guess the radio code when he replaced it! Needless to say, he didn't get lucky and the radio locked itself. We left the radio with the dealer, who had to get something from Ford to unlock it. It was many weeks before we got the radio back.

So it can be done, but you may be better off simply replacing it.
