What do they do if they get a yellow sticker (carny) do you go home pull the motor out and swap it to get the sticker off love to know

they dont get driven on the street. they are mainly for the drags, summernats, powercruise etc. the reason they still have rego plates is either that the car was passed for rego without the blower, tubs, etc or the plates are from another car. arrive at summernats on wednesday & see how many cars get number plates swapped.

apparently theres a rule where your blower /airfilter /bonnet scoop, should be low enough to see a mark on the road '7' meters away from the front of the car

Theres alot of shops who will clear them for a small fee, then if you get pinched again its on your own back.

A blower will get you a canary anywhere... some get away with it through sheer luck.

Many of these "street driven" cars at shows and in magazines do not get driven on the street and pretty much all are unroadworthy.

Of course, especially if your not driving like a d/head. I have even seen some police give the thumbs up to the owners as they drive past!

My mate has an XY GT, 6/71 blown 427 ( Runs on methanol), mini tubbed with 22x13's simmons out back. It'll be in street machine and street fords shortly as they keeping hassling him to get a spread done but he couldnt care less, once the new engine is done he's going to put it in. Lunched giving it a hit on the street lol.

Would love a lung poking out the bonnet but here in SA you would be off the road after the first cop saw it. Yes they leave older cars alone but stuff out the bonnet just freaks em out. I am too scared to put mechanical gauges on the cowl.

From experience !!
Majority are trailer warriors coming out for shows, burnout comps and drags only Yes, you can always pay for a dodgy roadworthy - but it will only last you until your first defect notice : Better to stick a couple of turbos on the old girl and keep it all under the bonnet |

QLD still allows bonnet protrusion to the extent they define. All outlined in their modification compliancing documents available from QLD Transport. May as well enjoy while it lasts. Lucky I have 2 bonnets hehehehe.
