Default Scale model GT 1:8

Was at knox ford today having a sticky beak and noticed in the glass cabinet a 1:8 scale model XW GT in silver fox!! Wow you should see these. The difference between the 1:24 scale to the 1:18 scale is the same again beween the 1:18 to the 1:8. Selling for $1200 if i remember correctly./ They had 7 and all sold like hot cakes. These look amazing.

Anybody else come across these???

Yep. I've got them all. They may go up for sale in the future if times get hard.

The level of detail in some areas is pretty good - rotating fan belt, working suspension, bolt on wheels, removable boot mat and jack, working bonnet pins and fuel cap, fold down rear arm rest, micro etched I'd plate and a replica owners manual with the Phase 3.

I'd love to see photos of it up against say a 1:18 GT...

because sadly the advertising of it - doesn't provide much with the scale of the car...

In photos it just looks like either a REAL car... or a 1:18 car...

Of course its much more than that... I understand...
Maybe I need to find a store that is selling one...

Im a pretty avid collector but there is no way in hell Im paying $500+ for a model, thats nuts.

I understand there is alot of work and quality in the piece, but still, it just sits there.

I lost all my GT collection in a house fire. They were all 1:18th and low numbers. Wasnt able to get all of them again as insurance didn't stretch that far but got a few.
I saw a 1:8th on eBay still in its box never opened or put together and it was selling at a starting price of $800 or $900. Thought hard but just couldn't find the cash, it looked awesum though.

The difference between the 1;18 and the 1:24 models is the the same between the 1:18 and 1:8. Being a bigger scale model the detail is so much better and clearer, with more moving parts

See what I'm getting at - is I could go into the garage and take a photo under the bonnet of the XY GT that I have here - and it would pretty much look 100% THE SAME as that...

They are very impressive....

had a look at onte on the wend and was a bit dissappointed withe some of the detail ,could hve been better for the price and size.looks more like an upscaled 1/18 than a downscale of the actual unit (shocker towers especially)
although it does look good just think it could be better

at the end of the day - its made in china (right?)

and there really isn't anything similar to compare it to... nobody else offers the same size replica model - (so i'm lead to believe)...

I still want one though, wonder if I can convince my paint/panel guy to spray one Vermillion Fire for me... ehhehe
