Hay guys Im looking for an LCD monitor and was thinking of getting one today. I was looking at this acer one; http://www.umart.com.au/newindex2.phtml?bid=2
Im not sure if its any good though and I cant find any info on it on the acer website. Im wondering too what are the chances of getting dead pixels on it. At the moment I have a 17" benq (when they first came out) and it has 25ms response time and the contrast ratio must be bad as you cant see stuff when its dark. Im wondering do you think its worthwhile upgrading to this monitor? Also one thing with my benq is the screen seems to always be very bright and hurt your eyes. Would you upgrade to the acer or is there another better one?

the link doesn't show any particular model but umart is a good option order it off the web and when you go to pick it up ask for them to plug it to determine that there are no dead pixels. If he doesn't want to show it to you walk out and head down to gamedude, where they definately won't show you before you buy, but you find one cheaper.
brother bought a 19" benq LCD from Umart GC and he asked them to test it - they said no and he started walking, so they tested it for him - works like a charm and no dead pixels ! Cheers Chippa

I not long ago bought a 17" Benq 8ms refresh rate one (pretty sure its 8ms). Mine's fine. Not a dead pixel in site. I'm quite happy with it although I am migrating across from a jurassic 15" CRT monitor.
