So a mate of mine bought a series 2 wagon with 170,000km on it and took it for its first drive. The fuel gauge is reading empty/very low but DTE says he still has a range of 100 odd km left in the tank, then it ran out of fuel.
Anyone had this happen and know how to fix it?

Did he do a lot of highway driving for most of the tank then on the last bit did he do a bit hard driving or around town driving ?
Sometimes mine will say 90km left but the fuel light will be on and it will surge around corners. Beer Baron.

I've had mine down to 15km and it took 64 litres from a 68 litre tank so I'd say mine's pretty accurate too.
My uncle had a AU2 ute and he said he's DTE was **************** useless, but he treated that car like a dog and was never bothered to fix it.
