Default Kit Cars

Just for interest sake, I would like to know if there are any 'kit' cars that one can build for no more than $40k. I am not talking about a pure track car, more like a replica?

You can buy AC Cobra Kit car replicas, but if you do it right, you will most likely be over your 40k limit.

One of the blokes at work here is building a clubman, although again costs can get out of control and you need to plan for a long term project with appropriate workshop facilities.
