Hey guys im purchasing a new cluster for my xr6, the lighting is stuffed on my cluster, its not globes or fuses either :( Are there any Melbourne places that will change the KM's on the cluster to my actual KM's if i provide both clusters as proof.

Im on 130,000kms and the new one is 205,000kms :(

ALSO

Whats the best way to go about changing the lighting colour of the cluster, so that it looks evenly spread, no hot spots!

I'm pretty sure you'll need to sign a stat dec in front of a police officer stating that you are changing the cluster and need the km's of the new cluster wound back to that of your current cars km's.

In regards to the globes, Malz or any auto shops sell lights like that (T4) i think they are. To stop hot spots paint the very tips of the lights to stop direct flow of light to spread it more, works well. Also with your cluster I had a lighting issue, found it was not only the globes but the loom that plugs in the back of the cluster (one of the two) has a loose wire (brown wire = dial illum) see if thats all working mate.

I recently changed my standard cluster over to a XR series one with a difference of about 50,000 ks on it, i just have it noted in my work book manual of the difference. I did try to get some people to change the kays over but not to many people know how to and it can mess up you trip meter doing so if not done 100% right.
