Has anyone looked into or installed a new ECU in their 5 litre?

Mine is a AUIII. Just wondering if anyone has had experience with them, price, good brands, performance increases etc...

any info is good. cheers

You normally just go a piggy back ECU or plug in chip and keep the original ECU. As soon as you remove the original ECU, you need EPA testing which ranges in price from $1200 to $4500 (Laminge found out the hard way).

Standard piggy back chips people use are:
Unichip (about $1200 installed - customisable tune)
ChipTorque (about $800 installed - off the shelf tune, but is also customisable at additional cost)
PowerChip (Around $900 - off the shlf "custom" tune - but may or may not work)
