Exclamation Replacing ignition module of 94 festiva

g'day fellas the ignition module has carked itself on my 94 festiva. found one from a wreckers for $100 which i thought isnt bad, but he said i had to mark something to make sure it ran how it was before when i replace it.
Any ideas what he meant, or has anyone replaced one before so i can get a better idea??
