OMG that's nuts! Not even 5,000kms!

They must have had it locked in a shed and thrown away the key?
Perhaps it was buried in a time capsule?

Just remember boys, kays ain't everything. Age kills cars too.
That $36k xr8, slap 20k a year on that and in five years it's worth pocketchange.

I don't think excessivly low KM cars are good at all.

My Great Uncle has an AU III SR which has done 7000km, its only ever had one Oil Change with Safeway Oil, original Filter lol.

He also has an AU I Forte with 48,000km, its had two Oil Changes with Safeway Oil & 1 filter change.

I didn't realize "AU" and "low k's" are phrases that go together. I thought all AU's came out new with 200,000klms on them so that buyers knew they where broken in

Just jokes people but 36k for an AU is a bit rich. Even that one. A T series maybe but perhaps that's a bit too optimistic that xr8 there.

Its the same as the xr8 i recently bought, mine has 100,000klms on it though.
Its not worth 36k. So what do you think its worth?

Perhaps 20k? I suppose if someone is willing to pay 36k then that's what it's worth. Wern't the AU V8 S3 worth roughly that from factory? I'd have thought good old falcon depreciation would kick in at some stage though.

I think if you do low kms you should get your services done on the basis of maximum time rather than on "kms travelled"

I do less than average kms in my car (just on 5 years old with 28,000 kms on the clock) but it gets serviced every 6 months with oil and filter changes

Still have my fair share of car trouble issues depite the low kms...so age is certainly a factor in wear and tear.

I drop my oil and oil filter every 3 months and i travel between 3600-4000kms in that time.

Also if a car just sits in the same position for months at a time they sometimes make like a dent in the tyre/rim and u feel it when u drive, so if anyone has a low kms car at least once every 2-3 weeks warm it up for 5 mins then take it around the block for a 5-10min drive then pack it up.

I think you will find they were more then that when new, but still doesn't justify the price of this one

The advert is wrong on the klms. The speedo says 4676. AUIII XR8 was over $50K new

I've taken a liking to this

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Mo...-281325778.htm

Too expensive for me though (and the NZ market). I could get a late 1990s BMW 750il or Mercedes S600 for one third of that price!
