Default Another Top Gear repeat?

Is it that I have been lucky to see tonights episode earlier or is it just another repeat?

At first I was a sceptic of the suggestion that ch9 would stuff the audience of this show around.....but

how many repeats for a new season have there been now?

At least before top gear was not mainstream - on SBS you had to be more aware it was on - and stand with one foot in the air with your aerial to get reception.

Now its just nothing.

Commercial. Mainstream.

Commercials - longer sets of them.

Sigh....

Does anyone know how I can (legally) down load episodes closer to their release in UK and avoid this ch9 .........skulking?

you were skeptical this would happen!!!

please it was the end for TG when CH9 took it.

as for downloading top gear, you can download it anywhere legally... there is no disclaimers stating that you can't, how would downloading it be any different to recording it on those Tivo things etc...

They are all repeats, well, old episodes anyway..

Most recent one was the "cheap car review" with the BMW X6. Pretty sure it had the Commo in it too.

Was early Jan..

and while we`re bashing ch9, whats with the time thing ?. a 7.30 program should start at 7.30. not 7.38 ?. ch9 has always been bad for this but now its starting to creep over to other channels. (btw i have 8 clocks in my house that are checked every week) its just getting a bit annoying. :

They'd be running repeats instead of new eps because of school holidays. The other channels are doing the same with half their shows.

Channel 9 is treating it like the Simpsons is all. It's on something like 4 times a week but only one is a new (i.e. unaired on free to air TV in Australia) episode each week.

Well i hadn't seen last nights show before so that was good for me, but what did catch my attention was during the "star in a reasonably priced car" segment JC refered to Michael Parkinson been on the show last week... : ....now unless i have been in a coma, i thought it was Jenson Button.... used:

I think i may just buy the series box set if/when available...

So far not one single episode that Channel 9 has aired has been new to TV in Australia... Pretty sure everything that they've aired has been on SBS, and sometimes twice on SBS...

In Channel 9's defence... they are not repeats... they've never been shown on 9 before... (thought they have on SBS)...

Loftie there has definitley been some shown on 9 that I hadn't seen on SBS and I pretty much saw every one over the last few years. Not many though, only a few eps have been new. But keep in mind that what I am saying is 'new' was aired in europe 6 months or so ago.....

DJR-351 last nights was a repeat so Clarkson would have been refering to the previous episode of the season that last nights episode was from.

you are wrong there
most of the episodes that ch 9 have shown on a Tuesday have been new to Aust Tv
Like the episode with may in the flying caravan, they were from the latest series in England, shown in November /december last year
SBS had never shown these
However, a lot of people had seen them on download

Cheers, that would explain it then, i spend six months a year at sea so while you guys have to sit through repeats for me it is sometimes the first time....

Repeats annoying yes - I haven't seen all that many ep's so I'm not fussed.

Was a good tour across America without being entertaining lol. I love how when May screws up it's always "oh c ock"

The flying caravan one - i'll pay that... that was a new one that I hadn't seen... (and I think that was the same episode as the Airport Vehicles towing by Hammond)...

But the rest - i'm certain that i'd seen them before...

and I don't d/load the episodes... nor have I youtubed them...
And I don't have the DVDs...

Either way - I'd still watch it 2-3 times over anyways... much like the Simpsons which I've seen over 15 times each episode i reckon??!!!

It's a non-ratings period.
So channel 9 shows us old ********** for two weeks until the ratings points are being recorded again.

I get the episodes from Final Gear. They have the original episodes, as viewed in the UK. Usually within hours of their first broadcast.

Otherwise I know series 10 and 11 are both available as sets on DVD.

Most of the episodes are repeats from SBS.
I think only 3 of them have actually been new to Australia.
In typical commercial TV fashion they have screwed it up.
Too many add breaks, sections of the show (a few seconds here and there) have been cut out, show running continually late, etc etc etc....

Great work CH9.......
