Default Kf Laser Hand Brake Lights Comes On Car Goes Off ???

hi,
can anyone help with a problem i am having with my 91 kf 1.8 efi laser?
as you are driving handbrake light comes on,cd player turns off tacho drops to about 1100 rpm (but car is doing about 2500),loses power and then light goes out and everthing is bcak to normal??
until you turn car off then it won't start and sounds as if battery has gone flat???

Sounds like an earthing problem of some sort, you'd be best off getting your local Ford dealer to run a diagnostics check on it to try and pin point the cause, otherwise you'd be chasing your own tail IMO.
