as title suggest. wanna get rid of my series 1 for series 2. straght swap? i know ill have to change oil pressure sender unit

Pretty sure you will find there will be more headaches than it is worth. Firstly is your series 1 a smartlock or smartshield? If it is smartlock then i would say that there is next to no hope without completely re wiring all of the connectors. And then even if yours is smartshield i would say that all connectors would have to be rewired. Plus a lot of the plug ins such as stereo, steering wheel controls, instrument cluster etc will be different in their wiring and possibly how they integrate into the dash wiring. Having said all that anything is possible with enough time and effort.

i mean i already have an series 1 xr8. i just like the series 2 dash better with gear display. so there wouldnt be much rewiring then?

the differences between series 2 and series 1 are astronomical, there is basically nothing electronics wise that you can swap to put it simply.

i didnt think it would be that hard. i use to have a series 1 forte and i put a series 2 xr dash in it. why are series 1 xr8's so different :S
