Default Cruise Saturday Night 10/9/05

This was in the NSW -Qld Events section is there anyone interested : : :

Back-roads Bash

Where: Penrith to Picton to City or Liverpool
When: Saturday September 10th 2005 Late arvo and night (could change if there is another event)
Who: all AFF members and friends

It was planned of having the BBQ around lunch-time, but I figured that this may clash with family stuff/work, so it will be a late lunch early dinner thing.

At 4:30pm, start with a BBQ at Penrith (any locals know if there is a good BBQ spot along the river?)

After about 6:30 pm head off, down Mulgoa road to Wallacia,
Onto Silverdale road and a quick pit stop at Warragamba dam (for the TQEs and HAMs to catch up)

Continue down Silverdale road, into Werombi rd for Camden

From Camden, down the Old Hume Hwy for a blast over the Razorback hills to a break at Picton.

Onto the M5 and depending on the time/how we feel, a blast back to the city to Harry’s Café de Wheels or the closer Liverpool Krispy Kremes for some sugary goodness and to say our goodbyes/laugh at rice.

Cruise finishing time: about 9:30-10:00pm

What you need to bring:
• Your car with a tank of petrol as it’s a nice long cruise(or mums car etc, doesn’t matter if its not a Ford you more than welcome to cruise)
• Yourself
• If you wanna throw something on the barby, bring that. I *should* be able to supply cooking utensils, butter, sauces, paper plates and cutlery, So all that is needed is your meat/veggies to put on.
• Your drinks
• If you have one, a CB, walky talky, mobile phone or Fisher-Price Baby Monitor. If you have a spare, bring it to lend to a less fortunate member
• $3.30 or an E-tag if we do go back to the city.

What you need to do:
• Suggest the BBQ spot
• Do whatever housework, chores, overtime, extra work to get that afternoon/night off
• If anyone could help me setup this thing at all, please arrive about 45mins early at the meet spot. Or if you could help with supplying food/bread/drink/cutlery etc its more than welcome.
• For newcomers, no hoon-like activity, and keep a safe distance to the car infront of you. I’d like to think that we could keep our forum’s good image whilst on the road.

If it is raining, the BBQ will be called off, but the cruise will still go ahead. If you cant do the whole cruise, feel free to pop into the meet-point to say a howdy.

I look forward to seeing you all there! It is a great event to put faces to names. If you have non-member friends that wanna cruise, invite them for sure, and the same goes to any lurkers or non-posters, join us.

Good to see all the interest guys...

Meet Place - for BBQ - On the freeway, take the Mulgoa Rd exit
At the roundabout slightly south of Panthers is Jamison Rd, head west along here until the end of the Road. Here it will turn into Tench Av and the place is on the right

Well I have just gotten home and it 1:45am, well what an experiance it was. It all started out realy good and the weather was fine to start off with the it rained later on in the day, and then half way thru the cruise the old girl decided to throw out a brake pad off the rear some how. So it was time for me to turn around and limp on home (Green Rob and Family I can not thank you guys enough for following me) as far as the car would go untill it thru the whole bloody caliper off the rear, so it was time to call for a tow truck all the way from Silverdale to home.
Well that was an experiance I can tell you I have been with some cow boys in trucks but this bloke was good, he thru the truck around like as if he was in a XR8. Green Rob had troubles keeping up with us, So we got it home and was thinking the night was over for us and we had noticed the neighbours XR8 ute was there so I went and grabbed it for the night, shame he wasnt home so I could not ask to borrow it but thanks anyway Phill.
So any way I would like to say it was a great afternoon and night (even with the drama I had) and to meet up with so many new faces.
Thank you guys again
Stretch & Cara
