Thought I'd post this here to gauge interest before anything goes in the events section.
Since the Lowlanders seem to be ignoring us re: the 'Multi-state AU cruise' : I figured I'd see if anyone up here would have any interest in organising a proper AU cruise and BBQ. As this is just an EOI, any ideas as to when and where would be welcome. I had thought however, that the sommerset dam run is getting a bit old hat, not that its off the table, but I was thinking something a bit new a different. Personally I would have a great time on a decently long cruise route over some fun/picturesque roads. If we could get a large turnout, that would be awesome, so all of the Queensland AU boys and girls could have a chance to meet. To this end, setting a date will be tricky; as the numbers increase, so too does the difficulty of finding a date which suits all. The format is also something that we need to discuss. Do we all want to meet and then set off as a convoy along a set cruise route, to end at a park of some sort, then have a BBQ lunch. Any other suggestions? I'm just putting it all out there, so any and all ideas are welcome.

I'd be keen for a cruise to the goldy, perhaps down to the spit.. Good photo ops, plenty of space for cars.. also family friendly (a must for me ;)) It may not be the most exciting "drive", but a great spot for all to meet..
I'd make any date work, just need prior notice! EDIT: For food I'd suggest the ol' fish and chips, it takes away from the catering hassles, whereby people don't turn up and are already catered for etc etc

Nice idea, and theres no reason we couldnt go for a bit of a drive up into the gold coast hinterland and then back down for a fish'n'chip lunch.

Hey, I'll be in that, if there is enough notice for me. I know i'm not in an AU anymore, but i used to be and still have AU friends
I know its a bit far off, but do we want to organize something for the weekend of the Gold Coast All Ford Day this year, like a cruise or something on the Saturday night before hand

Feel free to suggest a date, I'm going to throw in: the Labour day long weekend (labour day is Monday 3rd of May). Hopefully there should be lots of us with at least 1 day off during that weekend.

Im in aslong as its a sunday, Mt Tamborine have plenty of bbq spots and its a great drive up there, also natural arch bridge is great aswell. But no bbq area, Bout 1hr drive from brisbane. Even Cedar Creek falls its not a massive drive, but nice waterfalls and a bbq area can always head up the mountain after, Just keep me postade about it and i can help out with some food as i work in a fruit shop.

Well if people are happy with that date, we could go ahead with it. Even if it didnt turn out to be a big one.
Does anyone have any objections to the 2nd or 3rd of May?
