Default New g'box whineing

The wagon just got a recoed box put in after the last box gave up and ever since pickup it has been making a whineing sound that go up with the revs.

Is it supposed to be like this till it gets run in?? Could it be a shoddy box?
The oil pump also comes to mind?
Any help is appreciated.

Cheers

so tell us more info
does the whine happen in all gears?
if you're driving down the road and slip it in netural, does the whine still occur?

ps falcon autos have some amount of whine to them, it's a 'feature' not a 'fault'.

also
it'd be under warranty
take it back if you're worried
the internet is not a real good place to diagnose strange noises.

if its a reco box, they may have overlooked the planetary gear set when rebuilding it.... often if they're on the way out they are very whiney..
i'd get it back to them asap..
let me know how you go..
cheers
