There, I said I would share details on the next Iron Chef event. Now that I have booked all the seats I need I will put it out to you all! $385 per head, will buy you 6 courses and six wines matched to dishes. Last one was great - opportunities for pics with iron chefs, and signings of books item etc... In 2008 it was a mind blowing experience. Cant wait for June 2010!! Allez Cuisine!

I am watching Iron Chef as I type this. I wish so much to have been able to go. Have been watching iron chef for years and years. Chen is by far the one chef I would love to meet and taste his dishes. I asked the mrs if we could start saving for if there is one next year, but she isn't into spending that much per head to eat.

Yeah Chen was very personable, Sakai is a little aloof and fancies himself as a ladies man. He was so much more interested in posing with women that he was in talking (despite the language issue) In 2008 my brother in law got to go in to the kitchen with Chen and cook sharks fin. It was piped through to the dining area on big plasma screens. They are getting older, who knows how long we will keep getting them out to Australia? Michiba (my fav) wont travel anymore.

Unfortunately this event was low grade. A real step backwards.

That said, you compare it to the last time you were there so maybe not as bad if it was your first time there? For example, would it have been great if you hadn't gone in 2008 or was it genuinely just rubbish? Sort of like Top Gear live in 2009 when compared to 2010.
