Default Bob Jane! You've done it again!

Word around the drag racing scene is that Bob has purchased a 50% share in Heathcoate Park Raceway in Victoria. I cant see any good coming out of this considering his past history with Heatcote, ANDRA and motoring enthusiasts in general. :-(

Word is this is true, and better news we can keep having our drag days as Russell Clark is still running HPR.
Russell and Bob have been friends for many years...
Lets hope they spend a few bucks and upgrade a few things at HPR..

There is an explanation to the costs in the Nationals thread. (DVD included etc)

It costs money to run these tracks... VHT doesn't pay for itself, staff don't pay for themselves, etc.

It is still fantastic value for money. Try take kids to Luna Park and see how much change you come away with!

I know about the dvd i was wondering if this was also part of the $10 dollar rise so the other $5 is for the dvd

I am not having a winge about the price it is well worth the $$$ even with a $15 increase

I am happy that russ has found a way to still be involved with his baby heathcote park and as spooly said hope that they put some money into the track and improve some of the facilities

Spoke to the staff at Heathcote today who said it's **************** that Bob Jane has anything to do with HPC. They wont tell who purchased it only that there is no longer a reason to have the auction. It sounded almost like Russell has kept a 50% stake in the place but that may just be me reading it wrong. They said that nothing is going to change. Now this is not say that Bob Janes son hasn't got a stake in it though. :-?

Totally confused

I pray that rumours that Bob Jane has bought into Heathcote track are just that, otherwise it will be a dark dark day for drag racing in this country. Nothing Jane has done in the last 10-15 yrs has been positive for the sport. Good luck, hope things only change for the better.

Who gives a rats who owns it, so long as we can still race there. Word is that improvements are going to be made and that can only be a good thing. As far as Calder goes, improvements a plenty are being made there also and the track there is equivalent to WSID or any other at the moment. If that's Bob's doing, then who are we to complain about him owning Calder, Heathcote or anywhere. All I care about is having 2 great tracks to race on in Victoria. Don't for a moment think that a new track will be all good - expect to pay the big entry fees and be treated like second class citizens like you are at WSID. If it could be like Perth - then that's a different story!! Try holding a club day at WSID, the same would happen if we get a new track - no one could afford it.

There was a fairly strong rumour going around that Winton were in discussions with HPR a while ago.

Winton cannot build a drag track there due to local council restrictions.

You just never know.

Bobbie is the youngest, and has an active role in Calder.

I hear Russ still owns 51 % and another "unknown" invester owns the other 49%
Also sounds like the track will be getting Concrete to 1/2 track. Other improvements as well..
Lets hope so

Well it's pretty much official. Look at the Heatcote site and it now has the Calder event dates as well.

The reason I heard HPR was up for auction, then withdrawn was to obtain a true independant valuation for reasons other than actual sale?
Now that's settled, It's back to business as normal. (including some pretty major upgrades)
Note, still no ET Vs chute or cage requirement = No Jane involvement methinks?
