why not just put the money into a 221 itself? you could still run all the 250 type stuff like big manifolds etc couldnt you?

alot who done the 221 cranks in holden red motors did this so they could still retain the holden block
insurance ????,class rules, or other reasons i mean seriously WHY would you bother putting a ford head on a holden block ??? there are some seriously tuff factory 6s out there now must be some reason why this chap spent all this coin on a conversion |

So basicly what you are saying is if you want to use ford parts on a holden your head must be on backwards.....
Yeh that makes sense. |

What's the advantage of using a 202 short over a 250 short? The Ford crossflow head is better so in reality there must be some reason for using the 202 short otherwise why not just use the whole crossflow engine?

Class rules, I assume. Many racing classes require the factory block.

class rules IS the only logical reason surely
being an ex lover of the holden 6s the power , torque even revs the nissan L28 (2.8 petrol)put out wouldnt touch a holden red again then theres the nissan RB motors one of those nissan "godzilla" motors factory spec would surely nail this x-flow headed torana to the wall monies on class rules |

Funny why the ford head would be put on backwards. the cam is on the right hand side on both the holden & the ford.
As far as looking at the holden 202 and the ford 200 motors the holden is the way most people go, for performance wise. So i was thinking what ford 200ci is the best to modify for a street motor. Maybe the XR 200 is the best as the XY to XF rod ratio is probably not as good. |
