Question Auiii Intech Hard To Start

im having trouble starting my s/3 au after it has reached operating temp , if i shut it down , then try to start again it turns over but wont fire , if i turn ign off and try again it usally fires , but i smell unburnt fuel , its like and old car with the timing out of wack, can the timing be adjusted some how, been told to ground the the pins in the diagnostic port to set the base idle , but with no dizzy , what do you move to adjust timing advance or retard.

when was the last time the plugs, leads, coil pack where changed??

it has new plugs , leads, injectors & fuel rail , fuel filter , and pump is 18months old, coil pack is the original.

Crank angle sensor. My daily did the exact same thing 6 months ago. Was hard to start warm, then one day at the shops wouldn't start at all. Easily checked with a scan tool, check wave length for crank sensor, cam sensor, and map sensor. Good luck.

who do i take it to , to check with scan tool , cost much ? thanks, did your fuel eco suffer whilst you had the same prob.

you take it to a mechanic with a scan tool. nearly all of your local servo mechanics should have one by now.

I'd be changing the coil pack. They sit under the inlet manifold and do get affected by heat. Will probably solve your fuel economy issues too.

coils either work or they dont ? from what i've read , but saying that, it is still the original coil pack
