Default ED Futura

You guys would be the ones in the know, so I was hoping someone could help answer me question.

I found an ED Futura for sale. Its white, dead straight body, but the front bar on one corner has dropped. I assume its only a few clips. Anyway, not sure on the K's, but it has a set of those EF XR8 rims (the 5 spoke with the half arrow head at the end) and thru the window, the inside looks pretty clean. It has been in the same spot for best part of 3 weeks now, with the price dropping to $3500. It's an auto, and its dual fuel.

You guys think this is a good price. I was thinking of buying it myself, mainly because of the cost to run the thing. It's cheap. But if I inspect the car, I'm not sure of the problems the ED's have. What should I look out for. Might consider taking it for a test drive and if its ok, handing over some cash after some negotiation.

sounds like a good price for an ED.
ED would be the best of the lot to buy, by then all the ea - ED bugs have been ironed out.
if its a late ED ( mid 94) aparently they have a hybrid ED / EF motor

I'm thinking of contacting him an offering a lower price. I've been past that car a few times, and its really starting to grow on me. It's got Classic stickers on the side of the car. Rear doors I think

Dwayne if you do get it you have to give me the rims. You saw my poor dodgy 15's, have mercy on those less fortunate than you. :

And does it have 650,000kms on the clock?
Being on gas COULD mean it's an ex taxi. You can't really spot a bargain without seeing inside it or driving it but so far so good.
You obviously need to drive it but if you get in the car and it's got excessive kms & signs of it being an ex taxi then it suddenly becomes obvious why it has sat there for 3 weeks with a declining price tag. Bargains are usually snapped up pretty quick, add to that, car lots try to make a bit on trade ins.

On to the optimistic side of things, there are bargains out there & this could be one of them.

Yeah the old XE is a bit of a killer when it comes to economy. Its a great car, but I think it could do with a gas unit its self. Was going to get one, but I figured I may as well look for something with a bit more power

I paid $3200 for my car by the time i got it RWC, ED FUTURA classic, I6 auto, ABS, cruise, A/C a bit over a year ago if thats any indication... Its not on gas and had 195,000 on it, not immaculate but not a piece of shite either.

A fella at work picked up a ED FAIRMONT, on gas, black for $3000 about 6 months ago... ITS REAL NEAT!! jerk.....

Bargains are about, just come when you least expect, good luck
