Default Odd noise on new zetec fezzy...

Well guys and girls had my car just over a week and done 400kms in it..

And have noticed a couple of things wrong with it...

1) Air con aint cold enough :(
2) A odd ball noise when started up its like a dodgy pulley or somthing that whines for a 20secs or so...

3) A piece of grit or somat under the paint

I have booked the car in at ford so hopefully they will sort these issues out...

So has anyone else had this squeel like noise and if so what is it??

Everyone has the problem with the crappy aircon, I think it might be a model specific thing, or maybe the gas its filled with? Its r134a or something these days, because its "Ozone friendly".

Hey fella. I'll try to offer some helpful information, as apposed to environment bashing trash.

My aircon too was very weak to begin with, this seems to be Ford over filling the aircon unit with too much gas. After about three months the aircon was very cold. It's not freezing like some other bigger cars, but it's very cold. Also keep in mind that the size of the front window is quite large, and the heat seems to make the interior vents quite hot, which doesn't help the cooling vents.

Not sure about the noise, but another member has an issue with her car which left it sitting at the dealer for a few week, so taking it straight to them will be the best thing. Where abouts do you have paint issues? Euro Ford paint has been noted as rather thin, other Fiesta, Focus and Mondeo drivers have all noted this. Hope this helps you out a little bit, please update us with what the Ford dealer says

I think the noise is the alternater belt or pulley as when i put it under load from cold the noise started again til the engine had got warmer...

As for the paint i think its just a lump of dust that got under the paint when the sprayer was spraying.....

It goes in next wednesday and i gotta pay $33 bucks for a courtesy car for the day :(

Air con isnt the greatest.. In the past summer we used a couple of big sun shades in the hot weather and that seemed to help heaps to keep the large plastics on the dash cool enough for the air con to work well..

Mate I wouldnt be paying a cent..... The things ive found in the past few years.... Nice customers dont get anything... If your not happy, you have to really make sure they know. Tell them you wont be paying a cent to get to and from work because their BRAND NEW car needs work!!!!

Ask shroomies how they treated her when her brand new car died...

"The squeaky wheel" they say...

The air con in the Focus is pretty average too....my XR5 air con is not cool enough really for AUS Climate.....but the Heater would melt an igloo about 20 seconds after I start the car in 3 deg temps...I'd suggest it's a lot to do with the climate the cars are designed for....but I may be wrong....maybe speak to an air con specialist??

As far as the engine noise, I wouldn't be confident without hearing it, commenting on it...

yeah its not good hey it better not be the aircon belt....

Although the aircon isnt on when the noise is happening...

I doubt they would let me take the hire car without paying the "insurance" for it??....

Shroomies i feel for ya with yours but at least its ok now hey??...

Pay for $33 for a car, don't Evan think about it. I get a free car Evan at a service. Go to a different dealer they'll treat you better.

You can go to any ford dealer you like and it won't affect your warranty. Ford keep track of all there cars From a central computer system. Different dealers charge different and treat you different.

Keep in mind all Ford Dealers are independently owned and run, but they all service under the same banner. Each dealer is very different, and when you find a very good one, stick to them! I finally found one, and they are great. Pacific Ford on the Sunshine Coast, bloody exceptional.

Just straight out tell them your not paying for a hire car to fix a problem on a brand new car....

Dont have to be mean about it. Just tell it like it is...
