i get one most weeks. they normally send a short one first enquiring if the car is still for sale. they tend to always ask for a final figure.

sometimes i'm not sure if its a genuine question or a scam so i reply that, yes its still for sale, price is as listed and cash only.

don't hear from them again if i mention cash only.

occasionally i reply telling them to get a life and stop wasting everyone else's oxygen, but i don't know if they actually go to a person.

Haha yea i just reply with "Yea sure mate come take it for a spin and we can talk price, unless your out at sea?"
Seems to shut them up quick smart and doesnt offend serious enquiries.

I just got an sms at 0355 this morning telling me that they will pay an extra $100 than I'm asking for my BBK SSI-R intake that I have advertised on Gumtree for $650. The number is now disconnected...

Here are the emails from today... You'll need to start from the bottom and work your way up.

Ok...will look forward to reading from you.

I'll get on to paypal when I finish work. When I've got that sorted, I'll forward on my details and my mechanic's address for your courier, as that's where it is and will make sorting a time to pick up easier.

What engine are you looking to put this on?

Thanks for the swift response...Due to the nature of my job and my location i will not be able to come for inspection,am a very busy type as i work long hours everyday,i have gone through your advertisement and i am satisfied with it so i will call you when am chanced but as of now we can be chatting online or sending emails to each other.

As for the payment..i will be paying you via the fastest and secure way to pay online(PayPal).

I have a private courier agent that will come for the pick up after the payment have been made ...so no shipping included.

You can now send me your PayPal email so i can pay in right away and also include your address in your reply. If you don't have a paypal account, you can easily set up one...log on to www.paypal.com.au and sign up. its very easy.I await your reply asap.

Hi mate. When you looking to pick up intake. I'm working today, so if you want to get hold of me it be best to send sms or call on 0424 599 577

Something didn't seem right and a mate pointed me to this thread. I've been thinking it's a scam all day, but not too sure how they will work it. I figured by using PayPal, they would pay me, get their "private courier agent" to come pick it up, then claim they hadn't recieved the intake and get their money back. That's about all I could come up with all day. I've thought about going along with it (Of course, not with my real PayPal acct, I'll see about starting a new one up with a debit card and cancel the debit card as soon as it's activated), but give them an old HO manifold I have sitting on the shelf, to make a bit of room. Maybe even give them 2...

Also, get someone to follow the courier, or even if it is a real courier, try and find out where it's going.

I wish this happened when I was on a 6 month break from work up until March. I woulda P.I.ed their ar5e5 and taught them a lesson about scamming. I get offended when d|cks like this assume I'm just a 'tard whose going to believe their bullsh|t and give them my ***** for nothing. Of course, I'd be happy to give them an HO manifold for nothing!

Well, seeing as though my dad is a retired goldsmith and just gave me $250,000 worth of gold upon his retirement, I'll give you $8,000 worth of 24k gold bullion... for serious!
