Found on the interweb that Holden and in particular HSV will be going to the GM LS4 which is a direct injection V8.
From all that I have read it will be in the E Series before the end of its life. I'd be pretty ****ed if I just shelled out $90,000+ on an E2 GTS only to have it drop significantly in value when the new motor comes out. Holden and HSV love changing. Way too often. Kills resale values. |

The LS4 is considerably less powerful then the current engine.
Unless they supercharge it or completely redevelop the engine I don't see it happening. Besides, the LS4 is designed for FWD applications. |

But who sells more cars?
Whether they are in the same boat as Holden with respect to profitability I dont know.

I don't agree with Holden / Hsv's stance on bigger motors every update. Supercharging and turbo charging take a smaller motor and make it more efficient / free revving. The euros have known this for years, we in oz are just starting to catch on. Holden should bring back the 304 and BLOW it.........!

This new engine might be DI and Forced but I cannot see it being an LS4 unless its re-resigned for RWD. |

Every industry upgrades its products, it's called progress. If you go into a purchase without realising what you just bought will be updated very shortly then you sir live under a rock.
You would hate to be in the IT industry...

The Coyote is overdue by about 2 years, it should have been in the FG from the start. (imo)
If Ford/FPV came out with a new (better than the previous) V8 as often as Holden/HSV does, would anyone be complaining? We would be on the Coyotes successor now. |

You guys are right... It is a small motor for FWD. 226kW would be a BIG downgrade... I checked the info again and found a few other sources. Silly me. I'll crawl back under my rock now!!! |

If people are so bothered by these upgrades, the answer is simple. Don't buy a new car............ Ever.
