A stripped out falcon would be nice 1300kg/400kw but the market is aimed only at a selected few which ford Australia only has a market of 20million! The cobra jet that the yanks can work well but the market is over 300million! All fpv and hsv for that matter needs to do is improve the way the falcon/Holden handle! 335kw is plenty for the new engine, but if ford can't get the power down on a 310 F6 the chances of them building a stripped out road/track car is slim!

It would have to beat the likes of the Bentley Flying Spur to get into that territory. pretty hard since it has a twin turbo 6 litre and top speed of 320km/h.

Quickest around a track would be more useful.

It would 'only' have to beat the Porsche Panamera and Cadillac CTS-V.

Well if it was easy what would be the point?

It could be done they did it with the GT40 in the sixties when Ford tried to buy Ferrari and Ferrari turned them down, Ford cracked the shits and demoralised them by beating them at the races. Anything can be done if you throw enough coin. Probability is NIL but all you need is a return to the good old days where Ford were making money hand over fist.

Yes this will start new arguments
Yes it will start a new war.

If I had $500k to spend on Falcon, I would have one to smoke em all.
I Rather Ford/FPV build a car that most Fans can afford and at the same time have Holden/HSV keep scratching there heads. An Allrounder a True Flagship.

Building something worth $500k doesn't justify anything and Media Headline would be
"Ford/FPV answer to W427", which translates that it is built to justify "ego" not Flagship model. What will HSV's answer be W627?

Flagship model should be one where you can drive of showroom with ego.

Well as no one has really suggested an alternative name, I may as well.

I like GT-RS.

Let the flaming begin......

Does any one truly believe that Ford even care about power wars???

They are advertising a four cylinder being released next year, and no mention of a V8 due in the next month or 2???

I think they found their decision makers from 1982, and haven't bothered telling anyone.

Aston Martin Rapide?

Lamborghini have been rumoured to be building the Estoque, will have to wait and see on that one.

Tough company to keep up with.

From memory the CTS-V has the quickest 'official' time around the 'ring', but the Panamera apparrently beat it by a two or three seconds in the hands of one of the German magazines.

I wasn't referring to who is the fastest, just some of the competitors ford would have to beat in a segment that is quickly attracting a lot of attention from some big names in the supercar world.

I think fastest 4 door in the world is really out of reach for ford, unless they have an incredible budget. Even a $500k car is unlikely to have enough budget to beat these guys and if they do, it won't be for long.
