..how much success have u guys had with cleaning them? I bought a real good one from the wreckers recently but there is still some build up and discolouration. Have soaked it in warm soapy water over night, helped a bit but its not totally clean. Cant get into most of the affected areas due to tank design. Was thinking about trying some bleach or other potent chemical?

Best way to get it clean is warm soapy water and coarse river sand, now shake it all about, then rinse it all clean, you can also buy a set of baby bottle cleaning brushes, quite good for getting the hard to reach bits.

Stick the hose in it, fill it up with water and car wash, shake the crap out of it.
I bought a new one, and change the coolent pretty often. This way the bottles stays pretty clean. (and i know i have a flushed radiator system ) However, i havent done this in a while and the bottle is discoloring again :(

I recently conducted a "myth busters" style research
The best thing i found to clean out the crap and discolour in them was bleach. Tip some in it, leave it for 15mins then wash it out and I was amazed by the ammount of crap that came out. The tanks went from DARK Brown to a brownish tinted white plastic. Carwash didnt seem to work well... Kero sorta worked but not too great.. Windex worked quite well infact..
