WD-40's name comes straight out of the lab book used by the chemist who developed WD-40 back in 1953. The chemist, Norm Larsen, was attempting to concoct a formula to prevent corrosion — a task which is done by displacing water. Norm's persistence paid off when he perfected the formula on his 40th try.

Nulon "Start Ya Bastard" (SYB) promotes easy starting of all diesel and petrol engines (both two-stroke and four-stroke). In searching for a name for this product, we could not get away from the three words most commonly used to describe a difficult-to-start engine –"Start Ya Bastard". We trust you will not be offended.

seems Start Ya Bastard = SYB .......... hehehehee

Yeah, but to be honest, "There is no teethworld", has become sort of a catch phrase for me.. Like "I wish there was a such-and-such store", "There is no such-and-such world". Sorta backfired on me once when my sis and I were looking for special batteries, and I stupidly said "There is no battery world.... Oh wait, there's one right there"..

Whereas Easy-off BAM! is just stupid, lame... and stupid...

*in silly english accent* "Look, we'll make this one cent peice look like brand new. Of course, new coins never had a pinkiesh tinge to it, but just ignore that."

Does anyone recall the Phillips "fizz" mobile phones?

I had a "fizz" it was aptly named, it was a fizzer, got replaced 3 times under warranty.

I think Camira means walker in Italian, inauspicious name for a car.

And does anybody else remember what 'Pinto' translates into?

My vote goes to any product where they've added 'turbo' into the product name, where it clearly doesn't make sense.
