I just bought 20w-50w Oil come home checked the manual and it's 15w-40w.
Will this do harm? Have 75000km on clock. Then Filter. Can someone tell me does the Ute 200kw have the Oil Cooler yay or nay? Because I bought a Z9 and don't want pressure probs it has a Z9 on at the moment but that could be incorrect too.Heard there is a Z89a Small one for the oil cooler versions. Please help I'll return the stuff to Repco if i'm going wrong.

There are two different types, one for 200kw and another for 220kw, you will have a 200kw, I don't use aftermarket oil filter's so I am not sure which one suit's you best, but it will be the larger one, I use the motorcraft AFL1, which I would take a guess and say the Z9 would be it's replacement, but don't quote me on it.
And I wouldn't be worried about the oil, as I think the manual states a few different oil rating's ?. |

Ive used both 15w40 and 10w30 in my 220 with no problems. 20w50 is probably just a little thick. Z9 filter for yours. Z89A was for oil cooler-fitted 220kw engines.

Car Is Manual So that thin black cooler thing in front of the radiator what would that be?
And is the thick oil a bad idea?

A previous owner could have fitted an oil cooler ?, very possible.
And no, the thicker oil by as little as that is not a problem, like I said have a look at your manual I am sure it say's varying reading's. |

I'll keep the oil try it for 5000km/s if I don't like it I'll get some 10-40. So that thin cooler in front is a power steering cooler interesting. Thanks guys.

AU 1 rebuilt 302 (tuffa ) auto
10w-60 castrol for me, 10000km interval, have easlier streched it to 15000km have used Z89a and Z9 (mosty) no noticable difference. my owners manual states a 5w but thats too thin for my liking, looks and feels like cooking oil 20w-50 is more for old skool big blocks, like my speedway hemi on methanol.

Is it hot where you are (Kalgoorlie)?? If so, the 20W50 may just be OK.
