Default Headlight beam issue

So on my LHS headlight. The lowbeam cuts out but the highbram works. It's a connection issue for sure but I don't know how to fix it as the bulb holder is a sealed unit (well seems to be)
Any thoughts or suggestions on how I can fix this
Also will H1s work in a regular falcon headlight assembly or best to stick with H4s?

Is your H4 bulb in the low beam a dual filament bulb? Ie high/low beam in the same bulb? It's been that long since I've had standard headlights/bulbs in my car I cant remember. I just know the H4's in my gf's fiesta are dual filament.

In this instance, replace the bulb

Change the bulb (H4). pretty sure instructions are in your owners manual. You cannot use a H1 in the low beam (don't even know why you'd want to, really).

Yes it is a connection issue. One side of the high beam filament has parted from the other. Hence there is no circuit and therefore no light output. Fit a new H4 globe and it will all be good again. You're lucky it's the LHS ... or is it? Is it the one on the left when you are looking at the front of the car or is it the one on the left as you look the same way the front of the car is facing? If it's the former you will be advised to remove the battery so you can more easily see and access the globe. If it's the latter your job will be easier.

so if i change the bulb the problem will go away (yes their the duel filiment ones.)
do i get 60/55W or 100/90W

yeah LHS has alot more space then battery. pretty sure on my EF i struggled and just jammed my hand into awkward spaces and got angry

You get 60/55. You might choose to pay a little extra for good quality Philips Clear Vision in a Plus 30 or Plus 50 style. These give better light output while not using any more current than the originals.

i dont know how many cuts and scrapes i've got from the battery side light access, pain in the butt when it fails late at night trying to hold a torch in one hand and try to get the clip off the bulb holder, i always have one spare headlight bulb in my glove box.

cry me a river, try looking after 19 EL's that blow headlights on a monthly basis. each.
then tell me about cuts and scrapes and battery acid - the AU's are a walk in the park compared to the EL's. No soft rubber boot on the EL's, it was a stupid plastic screw on thing.

and sleeper, don't worry, you'll get better, i can literally change AU H4's purely by feel these days.
