Default Ultimate ford experience fun

Have just come home from the Ford day out

What can I say, thank-you Ford,

What a day, everything was absoultley great, my highlight would be the proving grounds, 160 ks on the handling track in an XR8 around the S beds in the wet, what a car ,200 down the straight ,handbrake turns in the dirt in a Terri through the slalom test it,highlights could go on and on ,seen a few prototypes in camo but no camera's allowed,
A great bunch of people from all over Aus to do it all with and even survived the bus ride from hell home
lunch with Dick Johnson on my table, fantastic

i agree with everything in the first post... except i got to go in the xr6 turbo, not the xr8.. the thing just stuck like glue.. even in the wet...

oh and that bus ride home... my god... still.. a massive a fun day and a big eye opener... FoA is in good hands with Marin Burela at the healm.. what a passionate man he is...

all the secrets were very closely guarded.. didn't get close enuf to any new terri's.. plenty running around in camo gear tho.. they appeared to have an ecoboost falcon in their NVH testing building.. we were told it's a new drive train.. but not what it was exactly

i didn't go in the xr8.. so i couldn't answer that question.. tho i'm sure any coyote's would have been well hidden from us...

everything was covered in the design studio too.. so not much to report secret wise from there either...

The XR8 was a current production model stock standard! bloody hell it was stuck to the track like a slot car and the track was wet as well, still cant believe 160 around the s bends, still buzzing about it,

I stood right next to the Terri with the bra's on front there were 2 of them right where we first walked in from what i could make out looked real nice but couldn't move around to see the dash, the scoop photos from wheels mag etc show it pretty good.
The guys were all great but had to be guarded as to what they say of course

There were T6 prototype' running around as well, all, camouflaged but not hidden from view at all

Glad Ford is learning a thing or two on PR. Great publicity for them.

Thanks for filling us in guys!

I forgot to post my comments from the day too!!

what an incredible day!! everything from the first post in this thread is so soo true! ( i sat beside alan moffat at lunch! )

the highlight for me was the final few minutes of the day, being thrown around at stupid speeds in the xr6t. Man.... did that thing stick to the wet track like it was on rails!! even through esses at 160+

the 210kmh on the high speed ring, felt like 100kmh on a highway!

saw a red coyote on the trip to the factory, and all i can say is WAIT TILL YOU HEAR THESE THINGS!!! grumpy as!!!

during the day we saw AND LEANED ON a disguised territory diesel, and it was QUIET!!

i saw two ECOBOOST base model sedans ( these are registered! ) so keep your eyes out as they have a different grille to the usual falcon ( a criss cross honeycomb sorta plastic ) and a little cooler behind the lower intake. all fords test cars have a brass tag beside the front number plate too.

all i can say is, i met some great people, and shared the best day of my life with them!!

pix i took here

when i asked to pop the bonnet i got... "ah... nah"

this is it!
