Default Hydraulic jack

I started stripping down the recently purchased car yesterday to clean it up a little and found a 5 tonne hydraulic jack in the boot behind where the CD stacker would fit.
Is this standard issue in an AU Fairmont Ghia because it sort of looks as if it was meant to go there (in its own case)?
Any Idea?

Thanks

I dont believe so as mine sits in its own plastic case inside the centre of the spare wheel and its not hydrolic either.

Yeah Mine has a scissor jack located in the centre of the spare wheel as well.
It must of been left there by the previous owner.
It just sort of looked as if it was meant to be there because it was in a neat black case.

All AU's cam e with scissor jacks, you should have one in your spare wheel area. Looks like you just scored a jack!! Well done!
