M/T Radial or Slick ?

Time has come to do some racing
The problem i have is the biggest rears i can fit are 225s or maybe 235s
So im looking for any feedback from people using either a slick or a drag radial
What will be better and why

63 XL Futura
Centri supercharged 363 { No dyno numbers yet but would have to be around 500hp **
Full manual auto with 3 grand stall
Car only weighs 1250kg

Bugger. A lot of power for 225 tyres. Radials are a nicer tyre to drive on but not quite the grip of a slick.

Yeah its going to be fun
One day i might move the inner arches a bit so i can get some real rubber in but for now it will have to stay
Is there such a thing as slick radials ?
Thinking if i can run slicks but not change the fronts that would be good

Try Mickey Thompson street E/T's Radials.
Cars are running 10's on them. 235/60/15 would be the go

stick with the radials,i've gone mid tens on them no problem and best of all you can drive home on them,i think you might be able to fit a 235/60/15 drag radial.

Now just need to make sure they will fit
Anyone know how wide the widest part will be when there on a 7 inch rim ?

I have a set on 7 inch rims and they fit comfortably on a VH COmmodore.

My experience. Dont bother with et streets. If you want to go fast run a full slick. I can only fit a 26/8.5/15 et drag and 235/60/15 et street. The streets still blaze first gear in a capri with just over 400hp at the wheels. The drags hook up and run low tens. I need a 6 inch rim to fit both tyres. Very similar in widths the both of them.
Do you mind running slightly slower to have the et street?

Any chance you could measure the widest part of the tyres on the rims ?

I like the idea of slicks but also dont want to put a cage in it so no 10s for me
So i think the radials may be the best option

Are you running a cage ?
Can you legally run a cage in perth ?
Think i might do a dyno run to give me some HP numbers and decide what to do from there

Yes I run a four point cage with removeable side intrusion which is andra aproved until 9.99.
I got it engineer/transport approved and on a permit. Needed to remove rear seats but it can be done all legal. Or atleast it could be done a few years ago. Always best to call tech section of transport dept before doing any major work.

About 245 bulge to bulge.
