Im at a crossroads with my new rally car. Do i rebuild the motor thats in it, get a race motor thats been built or stick a AU motor in it. Just need some different opionons on the topic cheers . BTW its an eb2

go for a ba motor modded, will rev hard and fast and produce better torque.

another vote b series, but maybe a dedicated lpg 6, i seem to remember reading they have stronger rods and higher compression? may be some one can confirm?

Are you racing in a particular class? as you will find most CAMS events require the original type of block and same number of cams/valves for eligibility..
That said if your doing AMSAG go a BA Turbo conversion :p |

I live in adelaide so no amsag here :(. I wish i could put a ba motor in it,but not allowed.I went and saw a guy that races e series salon cars and he is going to do a motor for me and brand new box for 3500 Thankyou all for your opinions

EB motor with AU internals..Esp if N/A ...
E.B head with AU valves and cam gear..Is an option with larger ports, lighter valves from A.U .. The AU valve guides will need to be fitted..Which should be replaced anyway.. I guess you can't get away with latter model manifold ?? Raise compression to around 10 to 1.. Lighten pistons and balance assembly.. Windage tray in sump with crank scrapers to keep oil off crank and oil in sump... An MSD A6L2 or similar ignition box...If legal ??

Depends what class you want to do... not all rally classes have a 'free for all' on what you do with the car. Check regulations first

They have just started a new class where you can put a late model motor into a older car say for instance an sr20 into a 180b

There is a 180b with an sr20 turbo in it at our club he uses it in rally sprints the thing is nuts
