Default STOLEN!! - Boyd Coddington Wheels

G'Day All - Just wanted to throw out a quick plea for help.

Some mongrels (most internet friendly word I can think of) stole a set of Boyd Coddington, Billet Alloy, Smoothie 2 wheels from me this week. They were stolen from out of my F100 that was loaded on a car trailer in Nth Geelong (VIC) shipping yard, awaiting transportation.

The wheels are:
- 2 @ 18" x 8" - Holden Stud Pattern (brand new with 2 new 245 series tyres on them)
- 2 @ 20" x 10" - Ford Stud pattern (brand new with 2 new 295 series tyres on them)

The wheels were custom made to suit my F100 restoration project, as such, they WILL NOT fit any other car as a set. They have custom stud patterns and custom offsets.

They're obviously worth A LOT of $$ so if anyone hears or see's them trying to be offloaded around southern Victoria, I'd appreciate a PM or a call on (07) 40603911 (ask for Max)

Here's a link to Ozrodders where a mate posted a pic of them.
http://www.ozrodders.com/forum/viewt...hp?f=1&t=41005

Cheers - Max

Yeah, well, that's certainly where my best guess would be - There's actually a couple of other businesses in the yard (mechanic and panel beater) and given the balls you'd need to go into the yard, undo the straps around the car, get inside the cab, load huge wheels into something like a ute or a trailer....me thinks it's all happened a little close to home.....

I feel bloody stupid though......just when you think it's safe to trust humanity......they give you a good lesson in life!

Dumb question but I'll ask it anyway.

Is the shipping company under any obligation to pay up seeing as your property hadn't officially left their premises (are you or them covered by any form of insurance).

No CCTV/security cameras in the area?

Unfortunately No on both fronts. Shipping yards seem to be one of those "Enter at own Risk" deals.

If his truck crashed etc while in transport, it's covered, but not just in the yard...... So yeah, good little lesson for everyone!

Default Reward Offered

OK - I'm still hoping that by some bizarre stroke of luck, whoever has my wheels gets the message they are a mixed set and useless for any other vehicle bar mine.

Therefore - I'll offer a $500, no questions asked, reward for their return. Any info, call (07) 40603911 or PM me. I'll give an address to drop them off to and no question $500 cash in hand.

Cheers - Max

Mate check your shipping contract again and maybe even contact the dept of fair trading, as im pretty sure that theft is usually covered.

Scum bags....good luck with getting them back, I am sure the shipping yard would hold some sort of responsibility, otherwise what would stop them from taking the wheels themselves??

I'd be keeping a very close eye on Ebay. If they are a customer size/offset it would be relatively easy to identify them from a few questions to a suspicious seller ..

I would have a check in the car park of the shipping company and surrounding businesses to see if any employees drive a vehicle of similar description, worth a try....

Sucks to hear. I hope you get them back as it would be pointless for them to keep them. Absolute scum bags. I hope they're tracked down Charlie Wenzel style
