Have been wondering about the MRC suspension that HSV has and if it is standard or optional on HSV s. Also either way i would probably assume most media comparos would be equiped with MRC. So how much diff would they perform with the stock HSV setup?
Also ihave been hearing an awefull lot of comments since the release of the new GT and GS that the new engines now out do the chasis and suspension setup of the FPVs. What gets me is that unless they are actually at a dedicated track, which almost is never done in the media comparos...there is no way you r going to push the cars at more then 7 or 8/10s. Therefore why is the comment about overpowering of the chasis/ suspension thrown around so often. I would have thought with the lower/lighter engine setup and the mild tweaks they have made would instantly mean you allready have to push that bit further then the older model to get to the same benchmarks they were achieving before. Also worth noting, the same benchmarks that used to be enough to give the FPVs the gong in the handling stabilty stakes. Another thing worth mentioning...when the media has actually tested at the track (now able to go 10/10ths...the GT was faster anyway...despite having the newly inferior drive....seating position...tyres and grips and so on. Now ive always been one for a totally unbiased view of things...well as much as humanly possible haha...but some clarity on these maters would be highly worthwhile i feel |
