It may be cheaper to sell the larger items where you are now and re-purchase after you move.

I understand that. However the fridge was a Christmas present from our parents and is only 1 month old. And the washing machine was cheap as. We don't want to sell any of it especially the fridge.

I work for Downs removals in Hamilton. Before anything or with any quote, make sure you ask about the insurance as a separate thing. Most companies have a basic cover over the items in case of damage i.e truck roll over or such, how ever if you wish to have the items covered to be replaced or the like from rough handling and such it is better to ask about it. For the small amount it adds to the total cost it is well worth it.

For the amount of stuff you want to move, buy a 7x5 trailer (~$1000), tow the stuff over then sell or keep the trailer. Thats what I did last time I have to move stuff interstate.

Quote:
All removalists do charge extra for insurance,It is a rather lucrative money earner for them But if you have house and contents insurance 99% of the time your items will be covered whilst in transit. You just need to inform your insurer that you are moving. |
