That stillborn sedan looks ok imo, a bit less harsh than the XD. Very European with the more soft edges. Can see why the ute didn't progress any further though. Thanks for posting them CoupeXB, very interesting stuff.

Not sure of it's story - but as previous...
There was never FACTORY built XD/XE coupes...
I can tell you that this car was made from a Genuine 351 4-Speed XE ESP.
A legit Option 54 car...

My question - is why????

Spanmore come's to mind when i think of those XE coupe's above. They were a limo company that built a few coupes.

The top ute doesn't look too bad, the second ute with the scolloped doors looks like an abortion.

I am looking at that falcon, & thinking large cortina/small falcon hybrid.
For the family- falcon
For the cost concious - cortina
For looks of the falcon & milage of cortina - Faltina!

Or is that to close to the old Falcon pay out name? Fowl-tin?

They have to be early XD concepts - look at the 3rd from bottom shot (rear 3/4), looks like carry-over XC doors. The little blocks near the front wheels have a date, a shame we can't read it. Shows what the Falcon might have been prior to the huge weight/fuel economy push in light of Holden switching to Commodore. Great stuff, have not seen these photos before!
