IIRC you can get a cammer into an XA-XE if you notch the shock towers the same as what ford did with '69-70 BOSS 429's

You need more than that unfortunatley. Having a cammer sitting next to the Landau, had the tape measure out just seeing, "What if .... " The towers would need to almost go and the amount of work or re engineering was a bit off putting. Any normal FE will fit with just a bit of massaging of the towers.

They are a monster - I have seen/driven/loved one in a '67 'Stang here in Queensland. They do fit, you just need a bigger hammer.

The shy individual who owns it has another '67 with a 427SCJ shoved in there.

While the basic Ford Six was code named Barra, the Turbo version clearly deserved its very own moniker – again enter Gordon Barfield.
We asked him if the engine had actually been called “Seagull” and how that came about.
“Actually it was just call “Gull”, because I named it that. Because we knew it was going to poo on everything”.

I know here in the States there are a few kits for notching the shock towers when putting in something like an RRS suspension or Mustang II in vintage Mustangs. There are already templates and available parts to weld in once the towers are notched. I don't think they would be a direct swap to an XA- XC Falcon but it couldn't be too hard once the Mustang modification was viewed.

Amen... I am looking forward to the 6.2 Boss motor. 4'' Bore, 3.7'' stroke. The Ford 302, 351, 429, 460, Chevy: (everything except the Vortec 8.1) V8s were all oversquare. Interesting to note, the 351 and 350 also had a 4'' bore. So this Boss 6.2 should be everything I am hoping it will be. Legendary.

ford should revive/modernise the ole' cammer
it was a legendary motor and it would sell just being associated to the "cammer"

tell me who would a by 427 quad cam FG gt-p
i would kill for that almost litterally

The 32 valve 4.6L is a cammer, technically. Even more interesting, it is patterned after a WW II tank engine that Ford built. I am sure most here have seen the video of the 69 Mustang with the tank engine in it; 1,100 HP, 1000 lb. ft. of torque?

Ford does offer an engine they call Cammer. It is a 5.0L version of the 4.6L 32 valve...

But I agree. A larger displacement, more old school Cammer would be amazing. They certainly are not in a position right now to take on such an adventure though.

ford did build a mustang coupe based on the then new body design in the early to mid '90s. it was orange and had a 427 boss motor in it, efi and the works. it was running a c6 auto and from the times i remeber it did the sprint to 100 in 3.3sec? not sure

EDIT: heres a link

Ford never made a Boss 427.
That engine was based on the Boss 429, but taken out to 10 litres.

some really good info purely on the engine itself..
Why does the pic of the engine have lifter areas like a pushrod engine???

Because it is the same FE block.

I saw one in a hot rod on display at the Bendigo swap meet years ago, from memory it was a yellow 32 Ford but not sure on that. Took a minute to work out what it was!
