Default people still drive through rivers in their family car...

look at these to nimwits

Melbourne's southeastern suburbs have suffered severe thunderstorms with up to 33mm of rain bucketing down in just 15 minutes in some suburbs. Mentone was virtually underwater by 7.15pm as water belted down.

My son is driving around in Patrol cab/chassis with a 3" lift at the moment, and he is amazed how many ******* are submerging their sedans.

Heh. Funny how the focus on speeders, speeding and all things speed has diminished the common sense of both motorists and government.

I feel sorry for the car.

1) Because you are an idiot.
2) Because you have no respect for the safety of those with and around you.
3) Because you have no respect for our emergency services who now have to waste precious resources to fish you out.
4) Because you have no respect for your car.

Probably a few more.....

5) Because my insurer will give me top dollar for the P.O.S that I drove into two feet of water.

Last night in Dandy witnessed a C63 AMG attempt a crossing only to get stuck when cars in front stopped, sitting there idling with exhaust burbling away underwater like inboard boat only to stall moments later.

Frankston Dandy road is a parking lot just before Jayco Drive with cars scattered everywhere that have tried driving through.

Its amazing the lack of respect people show cars and the lack of brain function on most drivers.

And you know what, I bet you are right. Just like I heard of people doing the same during the hail storms we had in Sydney a few years back.

Those who missed out in getting their cars written off resorted to slamming golf balls in socks on their cars... and got done for it too.

Had the same, 2005-2006 C class Merc stalled in the water. Think it was a diesel too. Got pushed out, but it too sucummbed to water and I think it hydraulically locked. May have got water in the fuel too. It ran, very "misfire'y", then sounded like it hit something solid.

Car is still there. This one's going to be expensive.

I was going to the place you told me I could feed my family for $50 on last night's Today Tonight. Also, you said that I could get shoes that are made better than Nike's at bargain basement prices. And I just had to get away from the dodgy plumber. So that's what I was doing 62km away from home.

I'd be brave to even try crossing something like that in my Patrol with 2inch lift and 33s!, somethings very wrong with people who do it in normal 2wd cars

A bloke I know is flat out picking up all these stranded cars....its a field day for him.

He also has a government contract to pick up and store cars impounded under the Hoon legislation.

however.......if they had a snorkel... oh no, but they're not all roadworthy, well at least ya ain't gonna drown when you try swim from the car that is now stuck in a lake

I'm thinking, if we start a petition, will we get car manufacturers to fit snorkels (as seen on 4wds) ? lol
