you need to hold a probationary (P's) license for 3 years, then you automaticly get your full license.

That is for Victoria, i think other states are heaps more leanient. :(

Yeah Vic you have learners from 16yo then 18yo you get P plates then after you have held your licence for 3 years without any cancellations/suspensions etc you get a full licence and seeming as we are so lucky in Victoria we get lots of speed cameras which get you for doing as little as 83k/mh in an 80k/mh zone (of course about .01% of this revenue raised form cameras is actually used to improve our roads, stupid bracksy).

Here in WA u can get ur p's at 17 and have your full licence by 19 () and also, Dont need a boat licence here, just have to be over 17 to drivea certain size boat or bigger.

You poor bastards!

Over in the UK, you only have to sit a theory test and when you are 17 you can sit your driving test, and if you pass, you get your full license straight up!

Yeah you have to be 20 in NSW. 16 for learners, 17 for Red P's, 18 for Green P's, and 20 for full.

Well here (ACT) it's 15 9 moths for L's, P's at 17, and full licence after 3 years (20)...

There is a course you can do after 6 months of having your P's, on the completion of it you don't have to display the plates, and you get more licence points, but you are still on your P's (no alcohol, etc)

also getting insurance is so much easier
not as strict regulations
only 'legally' mandatory insurance is 3rd party
but even then heaps of people dont have that
its just so easy to get away with
the only harsh thing with our insurance is if you under 25 and male
cos all u25 males are labelled 'boy racers'but it kinda figures
all u25 males i know speed so yea
