The 12 volt from the cigarette lighter won't really work, cause it stays on after ignition. Run a cable full length to the battery.
On my WQ I took the green wire from the head unit loom and spliced in a wire for the amp, then used a converter on the rear speakers to get the rca, sounds nice and whole now, I just need some front splits and I will be happy. Cheers

AAaaahhh, I still wouldn't take the REM for the amp from the cigi lighter, as it stays on after the ignition is on. I did a bif research over on ukfiestanetwork.com . This site is an absolute BIBLE for Fiesta owners.
And a quick tip.. WP = MK6 WQ = MK6.5 (or facelift) WS = MK7

just to add my 2 cents, recently completed an install in my 09 fez. I ran my rear speaker high levels into the high level input on my amp. Saves running wires from the dash (which is a PITA) and my sony amp has an auto detect function on the high level so I dont need a remote. Also has all of the adjusting functions of the Scosche hilo converter.
here's the thread of my entire install: http://fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=11296590 if you have any question feel free to ask. I also have a speaker colour list if you need it.
