Default Road conditions on the Newell

Hi all,
for those who travel on the Newell Hwy on a regular or semi-regular basis, what are the road conditions like currently, especially after the recent flooding?
Is there a lot of sections where roadworks are being conducted, or is it a fairly straight-forward run?

We are leaving Melb on Monday 6th March driving up to the Gold Coast and just need to know roughlywhere we might get to on the first day, allowing for delaysfor roadworks etc. Aiming for Coonabarabran but may have to make it Dubbo, possibly stretch it to Narrabri if we get a really good run.

Cheers,
Matt

If you go to the RTA live traffic site you can display all the current incidents and roadworks. I have not heard anyone complaining about it recently,so Iassume it is not too bad at the moment.

It's still a ---- road. It's just that most of us gave up complaining.

Moree back to towards Coonabarbran is usually better then Moree to Goodiwindi.

Take care to read the signs as you come into Moree, as the RTA are building our bypass and its sometimes a pain to get around, although they have just finished and opened the complete northern section so if you miss the turn at the round-about and head straight through town you will be ok. You GPS might try and turn you left as you come past Chesterfield, that section of road is not complete so you will have to keep going straight.
