Default Service in Tamworth

I've fairly recently moved to Tamworth in NSW, and now my F6 is due for a service and don't know of any reputable places in the region to have it done.

Was hoping for some advice/local knowledge because at the moment I'm looking at taking it to the ford dealer here, but was hoping to get a more specialised shop in the area to do it.

Any help is much appreciated.

Hey mate, I'm from Moree, which is a couple of hours away. I haven't heard any bad things about JT's, but have heard a couple of cautionary tales about the local "performance" shop.

Speaking of Tamworth, I will be there from Sunday arvo till Wednesday

I've heard good things about Duffy's auto repairs... think they are the Repco place in the main street.

Cheers lads. I'm going to book it in at JT's. I saw a few FG xr's in there, so can't be all bad.

That 'performance' shop you're talking about, do you mean the ute dealership in West Tamworth, as that place looks sketchy and is the great wall dealership too.

I think they used to service my parents car when they lived in Tamworth. That was 13 years ago now though.

That was back when I was in primary school though so not 100% sure.

Considering that all the sports sedans/saloon cars go to the dyno in newcastle, what does that say. We had the saloon car there once and the EFI/Computer tuning went over his head. Hes pretty good with carbs apparently

Yep JT's is a bit steep. Live and learn. Won't go there again.

I'm more than willing to travel to Newcastle/Sydney for service, especially if its worth it, and seeing as how JT's just overpriced the buggery out of a service, I won't make that mistake again.

What sort of wallet damage was it, if you don't mind me asking, was thinking of taking the SP there for a check over?

Steve- I know, live and learn I was very dirty on that.

FPV- plugs were only 102 bucks! Cheapest thing on the service! Oil filter wasn't even in that 200 dollars either!

If I ever move back to Tamvegas please remind me not to get my car serviced at JT's (plan on getting something better then an EL GLi next year). Can't believe that.....

Next time i'm over there i'll try ask some family friends and relatives where they get their car's serviced if I remember.

i'd be asking some local newcastle people about Klosters (newcastle ford dealer) before going there.

i wasn't very happy at them damaging my car (chunk out of fibreglass front bar) and flogging the crap out of my car when i had it serviced there once before. but that was probably 10 years ago now so things might have changed, or maybe i hold a grudge too long

Duffys would be the best, Rapids have got a bit of a bad name around here.
