Hello all, new member here and my first ever Ford, bought a week ago, is an auto Fiesta 2007 WQ with 50k. All good except -
Ambient temp here has been around 32-35 degrees C, but even then the climate control insists on heating the car "all the time". The control works - I can make the car hotter and hotter, but for comfort I need to always drive with the aircon on. So its killing the fuel economy. Any ideas where to start? Is there a "master control" for interior temp? Or is there an ambient temp inside the car sensor? Any other suggestions? These sound like dumb questions to me but the car is a newer generation that I am accustomed to. Best wishes to all, Chris |

The WQ fiesta didn't have climate control, even in Zetec/Ghia trim, just a standard aircon system. So that could explain why it runs all the time.
A climate control system was available to both WP/WQ and WS/WT styles in Europe but never here. Congratulations on the car BTW, Having had a WP Zetec and now the WS CL I'm sure you'll enjoy the car.

Thanks for the reply Trento.
But surely the heater should be off when the temperature is 30+ both inside and outside the car? As I said, I can make it hotter, I just cannot have unheated ambient air into the car. Are all Fiestas the same - everyone always drives with the aircon on? |

If you want just ambient air have the dial all the way to cold and turn off the aircon, should just let the air blow through the system without heating it.

What he said! ^
Though I always find the air coming in, without air con, is always more warm that the usual outside temp. Not sure why, perhaps something to do with the air vents giving out heat after sitting in the sun?
