Default Note after extractors and exhaust gone!!

I got my car back last week with extractors and 2.5"exhaust installed. The note was fantastic all of last week but now the note is gone. It sounds the same when i had it before when no extractors and normal exhaust. I hope i didn't waste my money cos i really hoped for a nice note to last.

That doesn't sound right ... either that .... or you are so used to it that you don't think it is loud now.

Also takes a week or 2 to carbon up a bit ... the noise will change slightly though ... but not disappear totally.

Go find a stock AU to line up against, and hear the difference, you are probably just used to it.

Shouldn't have gone. Like the others have said, you're probably used to it.

I didn't notice much difference when I got mine done, only because my old system had a resonator on it, this new system sounds the same.

You have most likely got used of the noise.
When I first had my Extractor syestem fitted I had the fitter refit my stock muffler to quieten it down. I have replaced it with a hotdog & it does not bother me at all. You get used of the noise after a while & it is not until you get into one with stock system that you realise the sound difference.

Mine is exactly the same.Sometimes it sounds really loud and sometimes not.I suspect the catalytic converter is not so great and blocking too much.

If your catalytic converter is faulty and blocking the systrm you will notice a good drop in performance and you should hear it (rattle like at idle)!

I didn't know Extractors changed the note of the exhaust?

So your saying, now I have a 2.5" cat back, when/if I install my JMM race series intake and headers, my note is also going to change?

Yes Moya. It becomes deeper because it gets the exhaust gasses out quicker.

I find with my exhaust the loudness of the note changes with varying fuel loads. It is much quieter with a full load of fuel, and with a quarter full tank of fuel it is much louder.
