Hey guys, I've got a AUIII xr front bar to put on my AUII forte. I test fitted it the other day while I had a spare couple of hours (still needs to be painted), and it seems one of the mounting points for the headlights + bar -the headlight mounting point closest to the grill- doesn't have a hole that lines up with it on my car. Did the XR's have extra holes? And is it as simple as tapping a new hole?

Yes, you'll need to drill a hole.
There's also a mounting bracket under each mudguard. You can use it (make up your own bracket) or not. I made the brackets but I think there are others who have not worried about them. IIRC the front bar has the potential to not align properly without the brackets. edit: found the thread from when I swapped mine over:- http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=11246213 |
